The Mazhilis Committee on Finance and Budget, chaired by Madi Takiev, held a round table on the results of the activities of the Baiterek National Managing Holding for 2022. The deputies of the Mazhilis, the heads of JSC “NMH “Baiterek” and its subsidiaries took part in the work of the “round table”.
At the beginning of the meeting, Madi Takiyev noted the role of the Baiterek holding in developing the economy of Kazakhstan, supporting innovation, developing exports and increasing labor productivity, and providing housing for the population.
The Chairman of the Management Board of the holding Kanat Sharlapaev shared the key results. According to him, in 2022, as part of supporting large business projects, more than 2.5 thousand new jobs were created in the country, 5% of commodity exports were supported by the holding in the non-resource sector. The area of apartment buildings put into operation in Kazakhstan last year amounted to about 9 million square meters. Of these, about 2.5 million are covered by the Baiterek NMH tools to support construction.
In general, in all areas of the holding's activities, there is an improvement in performance, new business support tools and services for the population are being introduced.
In addition, the results of activities for 2022 were presented by the heads of the financial structures of the holding - Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Otbasy Bank JSC and Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC.
In his speech, the Chairman of the Board of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC Nurlan Baibazarov noted that in 2022, 51 projects were put into operation and 5,856 jobs were created. Chairman of the Board of Otbasy Bank JSC Lyazzat Ibragimova noted that in fact about 2 million people in Kazakhstan purchased housing with the help of housing and construction savings.
At the end, Almat Ashirbekov, Chairman of the Board of JSC "Agrarian Credit Corporation" spoke, reporting on the increase in the volume of lending to agricultural producers twice.
The participants of the round table exchanged views on the most acute and discussed issues. The deputies, in particular, were interested in increasing the transparency and effectiveness of support measures provided by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, comprehensive support for small and medium-sized businesses, agricultural producers, minimizing the risks of domestic exporters, providing the population with housing, etc. Mazhilismen also focused on the importance of a constant dialogue with business and population to effectively select measures aimed at strengthening the country's economy and improving the well-being of ordinary citizens.
