Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding and the delegation of the Prime Minister Alikhan Smailov have visited several facilities in the Mangistau Region.
The delegation has inspected KazAzot JSC. Earlier, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan (Baiterek Holding’s subsidiary) funded the modernization of the mineral fertilizer plant. It enabled the plant to increase its output. In addition, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan has subsidized the purchase of raw materials and covered the cost of the production and export of nitrogen fertilizers.
Another large facility visited by the delegation was the Aktau International Sea Trade Port. Previously, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan financed the construction of a pier and a breakwater that forms an artificial harbor for vessels.
Today, the port is a part of the Trans-Caspian International Route that runs through China, Southeast and Central Asia, Turkey, and the countries of Southern Europe.
The mentioned facilities were constructed under the State Program for Industrial and Innovative Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Furthermore, Kanat Sharlapayev has visited several tourist sites that are intended to increase the tourism potential of the Caspian Region of Kazakhstan. Well-known hotel chains such as Hilton and Fairmont wish to develop beach tourism in Mangystau. The Development Bank of Kazakhstan is expected to partially finance the construction of DoubleTree Aktau by Hilton and Fairmont hotels. The latter will also have a golf club, shopping malls, and a theme park. The high season in Mangystau lasts from May to September.
The Mangystau-based facilities supported by the Holding have created 1,358 jobs and paid 8,981 million tenge worth of state fees in 2021.
At the end of his trip, the head of Baiterek Holding took part in a meeting on the socio-economic development of the Mangistau Region chaired by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
