- Who We Are
Rustam Karagoishin, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek National Management Holding, hosted a delegation from Zimbabwe, led by Deputy Minister of Finance, David Kudakwashe Mnangagwa. The delegation also included senior representatives from Zimbabwe’s government and key financial institutions.
The visit aimed to learn from the success of Baiterek Holding and its subsidiaries, including the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and Qazaqstan Investment Corporation. Zimbabwean officials were particularly interested in Kazakhstan’s financial sector development model and Baiterek’s role in building infrastructure to support economic growth. Inspired by Kazakhstan’s achievements, Zimbabwe is exploring the possibility of establishing its own international financial center, modeled after Kazakhstan’s experience.
Among the delegation were the Chairman of the Victoria Falls International Financial Centre, Mark Holtzman, CEO Justin Bgoni, and other officials from the Zimbabwean government and financial institutions.
“We are pleased to share our experience and the achievements of Kazakhstan’s financial sector. Baiterek Holding is fully committed to supporting Zimbabwe in developing its financial infrastructure and enhancing bilateral cooperation,” said Rustam Karagoishin.
Deputy Minister Mnangagwa emphasized Zimbabwe’s appreciation for Kazakhstan’s model of fostering entrepreneurship and sustainable growth in the non-resource sectors. Representatives from the Victoria Falls International Financial Centre expressed their eagerness to collaborate with Kazakhstan in building Zimbabwe’s financial infrastructure.
The meeting concluded with discussions on the potential for deeper financial and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Zimbabwe.
