On March 2, 2023, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding met with the top managers and heads of structural divisions of Otbasy Bank, the Holding’s subsidiary. During the meeting, he was briefed on the latest digital tools and innovative services being launched by the bank to enhance customer service.
One of the key highlights of the discussion was the Agile methodology being employed by Otbasy Bank employees in developing post-credit and credit operations. The adoption of this methodology has enabled the bank to rapidly create and implement new services to meet the evolving needs of its customers.
Lyazzat Ibragimova, the Chairperson of the Board of Otbasy Bank, also presented an overview of the bank's performance in 2022 and its plans for the current year. She revealed that the bank's online channels accounted for 74% of all transactions last year, indicating a significant shift towards digital banking. This resulted in a reduction in offline transactions and visits to physical branches.
Otbasy Bank has been at the forefront of technological innovation, having been one of the first second-tier banks to introduce Blockchain technology. This has enabled customers to register a pledge agreement or remove the pledge remotely, saving them valuable time and resources. In 2022 alone, Blockchain helped save more than 780,000 hours for bank customers, and this feature was used by over 34,277 people.
The bank's online capabilities also facilitated the swift launch of the Online Rental Subsidy Program, which was assigned to Otbasy Bank by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The bank successfully processed 38,847 applications in 2022, enabling 79,872 Kazakhstanis to purchase their own homes.
Currently, Otbasy Bank has 2,600,814 deposits, with 78,953 new savings accounts opened since the beginning of the year. The bank's continued focus on innovative technologies and digital services is expected to drive further growth and success in the coming years.
