Baiterek Holding strengthens partnership in Atyrau region

On August 17, during a working trip to the Atyrau region, Kanat Sharlapaev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek NMH JSC, met with the regional akim Serik Zhambylovich Shapkenov.

At the meeting, the prospects for the development of the Atyrau region, the possibilities of investment cooperation and the implementation of joint projects through the holding's support tools were considered.

Serik Shapkenov noted that the Baiterek holding provides support to the development of the region on an ongoing basis. He also stressed that Atyrau is a favorable region for the implementation of any industrial projects.

- We are confident that the questions, opinions and proposals voiced during today's meeting will find a positive solution. We are always ready to support projects aimed at the development of the Atyrau region. Financial and non-financial support for entrepreneurship through government measures, continuous improvement of the business climate is one of the most important strategic goals of the country. I would like to thank you for your visit to our region. In the region, together with the holding, a number of significant projects are being implemented. There are big challenges for the future. I am sure that the work will be carried out at a decent level, - said Serik Shapkenov.

In turn, Kanat Sharlapaev noted that the Atyrau region occupies a special place in the socio-economic development of the country, so the development of the region is in the focus of the holding.

- We pay special attention to supporting small and medium-sized businesses in the Atyrau region. The main purpose of our visit is the further development of the region. We will resolve the issues raised with the participation of all responsible specialists. All projects announced today are under my personal control. At the same time, I would like to note that the funds necessary to support measures to develop the agro-industrial complex in the Atyrau region should be allocated by the local executive body together with the Agrarian Credit Corporation and joint and several liability is required. Projects for the development of entrepreneurship in the region will be continued, said Kanat Sharlapaev.

It should be noted that in accordance with the "Comprehensive Plan for the Socio-Economic Development of the Atyrau Region for 2023-2025", Baiterek Holding has currently allocated 900 billion tenge for business development, and more than 44 billion tenge for providing housing to the population.

After the meeting with the akim of the region, the management of the Holding visited the construction site of the residential complex "Elorda Residence". Currently, JSC "Kazakhstan Housing Company" has actively begun to take measures to resume and complete the construction of the facility as soon as possible. There are sufficient funds to complete the construction. It is expected that the 4th spot of four 9-storey residential buildings will be completed by the end of this year, and the 2nd spot - at the end of the 1st half of 2024.

According to Kanat Sharlapaev, Baiterek Holding pays special attention to the construction of a residential complex and intends to support its successful completion in the interests of equity holders and the development of the region.

As part of the visit, the Chairman of the Holding visited the regional branches of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC and Otbasy Bank JSC. He got acquainted with the activities of the branches, current projects, as well as their contribution to the socio-economic development of the region.

Further, the delegation visited the modernized plant "AtyrauNefteMash", supported by the subsidiary of the Holding - the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.

- The holding pays special attention to the diversification of the economy of Kazakhstan. Much attention is paid to the Atyrau region. As you know, the economy of the region mainly depends on oil and gas, but in connection with the launch of the KPI gas chemical complex, we are planning a separate program for processing polypropylene into final products (plastic, honey products, packaging). Thus, small and medium-sized enterprises will soon appear around this plant, - Yerzhan Yelekeyev, Managing Director of the Holding, emphasized.

The plant produces a wide range of petrochemical, oil and gas, thermal power, drilling, air-cooling and complex technical equipment. It should be noted that the plant has a unique workshop for the production of grating and hot-dip galvanizing, which provides high-quality products not only to the western region of Kazakhstan, but also to the markets of neighboring countries. The production capacity of the shop allows galvanizing up to 18 thousand tons of products per year of any complexity and configuration.

Concluding the working visit, the Holding's management visited TransTech International LLP in Atyrau. The Daulet-Nan bakery, launched in 2016, is the most powerful and modern in the region. The plant has a production area of more than 5000 sq.m. and is equipped with high-tech baking equipment from leading European brands, including the Rondo automated line and equipment from the German company Windmöller & Hölscher.

The assortment of the bakery includes more than 55 types of various bakery products, which makes it one of the key players in the market.

The Holding's visit to the Atyrau region emphasized the importance of developing regional projects and supporting various sectors of the economy. Baiterek continues to actively participate in strengthening partnerships with the regions of Kazakhstan and contribute to the sustainable economic growth of the country.

For reference: The general financing plan for the Agrarian Credit Corporation in 2023, including KazAgroFinance JSC, amounted to 500 billion tenge. Of these, over 4 billion tenge was allocated in the Atyrau region. To date, loans have been issued in the amount of 2.9 billion tenge (with CAF).

Atyrau branch of Otbasy Bank JSC was founded in 2006. The population of Atyrau region is 698 thousand people, of which 88.6 thousand people are depositors of Otbasy Bank. Since the beginning of the opening of the branch, 14,254 loans have been issued for 174,772 million tenge.
