- Who We Are
On October 11, 2022, Astana hosted a round table dedicated to the cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Netherlands in the agro-industrial complex.
The round table was attended by Askar Zhumagaliyev (Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to the Netherlands), Andre Carstens (Ambassador of the Netherlands to Kazakhstan), Zhenis Oserbay, (Vice Minister of Agriculture of Kazakhstan), Niyaz Koshkimbaev (Managing Director of Baiterek Holding), Almat Ashirbekov (Chairman of the Board of the Agrarian Credit Corporation), Aidar Prashev (Chairman of the Board of KazAgroFinance), Jan-Willem Scheijgrond (Vice President of Phillips), Frederik Vossenaar (Special Representative of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Netherlands), and other representatives of the Kazakh and Dutch political establishment, business and investment environment.
In his report, Niyaz Koshkimbaev spoke about measures to support the agricultural sector of Kazakhstan, and also made suggestions on the development of Kazakh-Dutch cooperation.
– The agricultural sector is a priority for Baiterek Holding. The main goals are to ensure the country's food security by increasing labor productivity. To do so, we need to introduce new technologies, process more agricultural products, and increase export. Nowadays, the agro-industrial complex of Kazakhstan is one of the most attractive sectors for investors, including Dutch ones, – said Niyaz Koshkimbaev.
He also noted that the main factors that make Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex attractive for investors are vast fertile plains and a favorable geographical location which may help Dutch farmers enter the fast-growing markets of China, the EAEU, and the Persian Gulf countries.
