Baiterek Holding explores opportunities for agro-industrial cooperation with France during official visit

Baiterek Holding's First Deputy Chairman of the Board, Nurbolat Aidapkelov, recently traveled to France as part of a delegation headed by the Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Yerbol Karashukeyev. During their visit, they participated in the prestigious Salon de l'Agriculture (SIA), which attracts approximately 700,000 visitors from all around the world each year and covers nearly all areas of the agro-industrial complex. SIA showcased not only modern agricultural technologies and highly productive cattle breeds, but also offered a platform for leading specialists in the agricultural sector to exchange experiences.

Nurbolat Aidapkelov engaged in bilateral meetings with French colleagues and heads of prominent European companies. During these meetings, he emphasized the importance of establishing a bilateral partnership in the agricultural sector between France and Kazakhstan. Aidapkelov also highlighted the interest of the Kazakh side in agro-industrial complex projects and initiatives.

Additionally, a round table on cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex between Kazakhstan and France was held during the visit. At this event, Aidapkelov shared valuable insights into the activities of Baiterek Holding in supporting priority sectors of the economy, including the agricultural cluster, and discussed state support measures. He also encouraged French investors to consider investing in agriculture in Kazakhstan.

– Taking into account the long-term experience of cooperation in the field of agro-industrial complex between Kazakh-French companies, we are eager to further develop our bilateral business relations. We are ready to consider specific proposals for financing projects in the agro-industrial complex within the framework of existing lending programs, and we are interested in strengthening partnerships on joint business initiatives, – said Nurbolat Aidapkelov.

In addition, First Deputy Chairman of the Board held meetings with the heads of several prominent European companies, including the Movement of the Enterprises of France (MEDEF), French Charcuterie Council (FICT), Synetics (European leader in bovine and goat genetics), and Lactalis (a multinational dairy products corporation). 

 

It is noteworthy that France continues to be a major investor in the Kazakh economy and a crucial trading partner. In 2022, the turnover of agricultural products between Kazakhstan and France amounted to $64.1 million, representing a 17.4% increase from the previous year.
