- Who We Are
On May 15, 2024, the 40th anniversary gathering of the Berlin Eurasian Club convened in Astana, focusing on fortifying economic bonds between Kazakhstan and Germany. The panel discussion centered on advancing the partnership agreement within the realms of raw materials, industry, and technology amidst a new institutional and legal framework.
Addressing the audience, Rustam Karagoishin, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, underscored the notable rise in direct investment from Germany, which surged to 697 million euros in 2023. He highlighted that amidst geopolitical uncertainties, collaborative efforts in industrial and investment domains stand as paramount.
"This assembly marks a significant stride in fortifying our alliance with Germany, particularly in agribusiness, manufacturing, and infrastructure ventures. Leveraging institutions like the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and the KazakhExport Export Credit Agency, we aim to actualize joint endeavors fostering mutual advantage and bolstering sustained economic progress," stated the holding's leader.
Furthermore, the gathering explored avenues and potentialities for bolstering bilateral trade relations and investment cooperation, pivotal for the continued advancement of strategically vital ties between the two nations.
For reference: The Berlin Eurasian Club was established in 2012 during the visit of Kazakhstan's first President Nursultan Nazarbayev to Germany. It has championed the cause of Eurasian integration and facilitated the execution of the state program "Path to Europe." Since its inception, the Club has evolved into a significant platform facilitating ongoing dialogues between Kazakhstan, Germany, and other European countries.
