Baiterek Holding and KazakhExport discuss work results and 2023 plans
The Chairman of Baiterek Holding, Kanat Sharlapayev, recently held a meeting at KazakhExport Export Insurance Company to discuss the results of their work in 2022 and their plans for the current year.
Aslan Kaligazin, Chairman of the Board of KazakhExport, reported that the company had fulfilled its obligations plan by 103.6%, reaching a total of 259.1 billion tenge. In 2021 and 2020, the support amounted to 204.7 billion tenge and 134 billion tenge, respectively. In addition, the company financed 80 exporters who established trade relations with 526 foreign buyers of Kazakhstani products. The main destinations for the export of supported enterprises were Uzbekistan, Russia, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, China, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, Italy, and Turkey. In 2022, under the insurance coverage, KazakhExport attracted additional 166.2 billion tenge to support domestic exporters.
KazakhExport plans to continue supporting the export of Kazakhstani products and services this year, as well as working on bills regulating the activities of KazakhExport in the status of an export-credit agency. The adoption of the law “On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan on export-credit agency and promotion of export of non-immaterial goods (works, services)” is a particular focus for the company.
Kanat Sharlapayev praised KazakhExport's results and instructed them to continue their work in supporting and promoting exports. Since 2016, KazakhExport has attracted additional funds for the development of domestic exports worth 506.2 billion tenge, while 196 exporters were funded with 845.3 billion tenge.
