Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, held a meeting with representatives of the European Investment Bank (EIB).
The meeting was attended by Adam Bruun (EIB Principal Advisor in Central Asia), employees of the EU Delegation to Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairmen of the Board of Baiterek Holding, and top managers of the Holding’s subsidiaries – Kazyna Capital Management, Kazakhstan Housing Company, Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund, and Agrarian Credit Corporation.
Kanat Sharlapayev told the meeting participants about the measures the Holding is taking to support entrepreneurs, domestic exports, the agro-industrial complex, and the construction industry.
During the meeting, the parties agreed to expand bilateral cooperation. In particular, they discussed financing and providing technical assistance for issuing loans to Kazakhstan’s climate change and renewable energy projects.
– We aim to provide support to microfinance organizations, small and medium-sized businesses in Kazakhstan. We will support businesses to help them become more prepared and resilient in the fight against climate change. We also plan to cooperate in the field of energy efficiency in housing construction, because Kazakhstan has great potential to significantly reduce its carbon emissions into the environment, – said Adam Bruun.
Baiterek Holding and the EIB will likely continue negotiations on the construction of an energy-efficient multi-apartment residential complex in Nur-Sultan.
Adam Bruun promised to consider all options for cooperation and expressed interest in continuing the mutually beneficial dialogue.
