Address by Aidar Arifkhanov, Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek Holding

Dear people of Kazakhstan! All employees of Baiterek National Managing Holding and its subsidiaries are deeply saddened by the tragic events that occurred in our country. However, we believe our people to be resilient and we are sure that we will soon overcome this crisis.

On behalf of my colleagues, I express my sincere condolences to the families and friends of the policemen, soldiers, and civilians who died during the riots.

We fully support President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev and consider the measures he’s taken to stabilize the situation timely and necessary in this difficult time.

I would like to say that the Holding and its subsidiaries support domestic entrepreneurs and people in need of affordable housing. For our part, we are ready to help riot-ravaged businesses.

The employees of Baiterek Holding decided to donate their one-day salary to help those affected by the events in Almaty.

The Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund, which supports small and medium-sized businesses, is ready to help each entrepreneur on a case-by-case basis.

The Agrarian Credit Corporation and the Fund for Financial Support to Agriculture will not accrue interest and fines for late payments on credits starting from January 5 until January 19, 2022, when the state of emergency is expected to be lifted.

“KazakhExport” Export Insurance Company continues to support domestic exporters during the state of emergency and provides insurance for its clients under all existing contracts. In case of late payment of insurance premiums, the insurance will not be suspended. If an insured event occurs, clients can contact the managers for detailed advice.

During the state of emergency, Otbasy Bank and Kazakhstan Housing Company will not charge penalties and fines for late payments on all loans.

By order of the President given on January 5, 2022, Baiterek Holding together with the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan will subsidize rent payments for vulnerable populations.
