Dear Mr. Suleimenov.

I am a journalist contacting you on the basis of growing export and import of goods to Kazakhstan since the beginning of the special operation in Ukraine which as you very well know has induced several packages of sanctions against russia.

There is a worry that the increasing export and import of goods from Kazakhstan is caused by circumventing the sanctions agains Russia, and thereby sanctions are being undermined via Kazakhstan which in the eyes of european officials is very serious and problematic. I am writing you to get an answer on this: Is Kazakhstan doing sufficiently to secure that the country is not used for bypassing sanctions against Russia? What measures have brought in to control this? If it can be documented that Kazakhstan is used for circumventing sanctions - are you prepared for sanctions against Kazakhstan itself?
