Rustam Karagoishin participates in the 13th Kazakh-French Business Council
The 13th meeting of the Kazakh-French Business Council took place in Paris, where Rustam Karagoishin, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, highlighted Kazakhstan's economic priorities and investment opportunities. The event was hosted at MEDEF and brought together business and government leaders from both countries.
Among the participants were Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to France Gulsara Arystankulova, Minister of Industry and Construction Kanat Sharlapayev, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev, Governor of the Astana International Financial Center Renat Bekturov, and Independent Director of Baiterek Holding Marie-Hélène Bérard. Representatives from French industry also attended, including Guy Sidos, President of Vicat Group; Philippe Delleur, Senior Vice President of Alstom; and David Avram, Senior Vice President of Fives Group.
In his speech, Rustam Karagoishin underscored the value of economic cooperation with France. He outlined Kazakhstan’s plans for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects and expressed enthusiasm for deepening partnerships with French companies.
Karagoishin also noted that the Kazakh-French longstanding partnership "has significantly strengthened in recent years," serving as a foundation for enhancing economic and strategic ties. He emphasized Kazakhstan’s wealth of natural resources and strategic location, which make it an attractive partner for French investors.
“Our country is committed to creating favorable conditions for investment and collaboration,” he stated. “In our efforts to diversify the economy and attract foreign investment, we highly value the contributions that innovative French companies can bring.”
The meeting concluded with the signing of several key agreements:
• A Memorandum of Understanding between Baiterek National Managing Holding and the French Development Agency (AFD), focusing on financing and supporting eco-friendly projects.
• A Memorandum of Understanding between the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and Bpifrance Assurance Export, aimed at implementing export projects with guarantees from the French state agency.
Baiterek Holding remains committed to advancing its collaboration with French financial institutions and companies to attract new investments and technologies to Kazakhstan.
