President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev meets Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding
Kanat Sharlapayev informed the President about the results of the Holding’s activities in 2021 and plans for the near future. In 2021, 37 major projects were financed with 533.2 billion tenge; 7 more projects were put into operation. 57.4 thousand small and medium-sized businesses were funded with 2.2 trillion tenge. 236.8 billion tenge was used to support domestic exporters.
According to Kanat Sharlapayev, over 26,000 loans totaling 464.2 billion tenge were issued to agribusinesses.
In 2021, about 130,000 families purchased new apartments or improved their living conditions. As of January 1, 2022, more than 1.97 trillion tenge worth of lump-sum pension payments has been paid to 458,000 depositors.
Kanat Sharlapayev also reported on the reforms and top leadership changes made in the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
In addition, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was told about the Holding's plans to help develop micro and small businesses and start subsidizing part of the rent for vulnerable groups. The President and the Chairman of the Board also discussed measures to increase state support for job creation.
