The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, Alikhan Smailov, has announced the appointment of Nurlan Baibazarov as the new head of Baiterek National Managing Holding.
The appointment comes in line with the President's vision for the transformation and extensive digitalization of the holding, as emphasized in his Message to the People.
"We must eliminate bureaucratic barriers, reduce the processing time for applications, and raise awareness within the business community about the support measures that are available. The new leader must take responsibility for implementing these plans," – the Prime Minister stated.
Furthermore, Alikhan Smailov highlighted Baiterek Holding's role in fostering competitive businesses, providing affordable housing to citizens, and bolstering the country's food security. He concluded his address by expressing his best wishes for the holding's success in achieving these objectives.
Nurlan Baibazarov, born in 1975, holds a degree from the Kazakh State Academy of Management, specializing in "Organization of Banking Business." He also possesses an MBA degree.
Nurlan Baibazarov’s professional journey began in 1997 in the budget department of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Between 2004 and 2011, he held various positions at the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, ultimately reaching the rank of managing director.
From 2013 to 2016, he served as the director of the Department of Economic Development in the Ministry of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
From 2016 until November 2022, Nurlan Baibazarov served as the Chairman of the Board of the Industrial Development Fund.
Since November 2022, he has held the position of Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. Notably, Nurlan Baibazarov has been honored with the state medal "Eren Enbegi Ushin" ("For Great Work") in recognition of his contributions.
