DBK employee is among the best corporate secretaries of Kazakhstan

An employee of the subsidiary organization of the Baiterek holding - Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC (DBK) Ayman Kasenova won the competition "Corporate Secretary of Kazakhstan-2020". The results of the competition were announced as part of the CG experts Meet Up online event for corporate governance experts.

Participants in the competition needed to demonstrate cases of corporate governance in the new reality. The best of them were chosen by a competent jury of representatives of international and foreign organizations, consisting of 9 members.

Ayman Kasenova has 36 years of work experience, of which more than 20 years in the financial sector, as the corporate secretary of DBK since 2014.

- In the project, I displayed information about the successful activities of the Board of Directors (BoD) of DBK in difficult conditions caused by the pandemic and showed in fact what kind of work was carried out in remote access mode. Namely, the number of meetings held in accordance with the approved Work Plan of the Board of Directors; strategic sessions, in accordance with the approved Action Plan to improve the activities of the Board of Directors, its members, committees; participation of independent directors in charity events; achievements and possibilities of the implemented program for automating the work of the Board of Directors and its committees; successful projects in a specific region, and so on, - said Ayman Kasenova.

It should be noted that the head of the working group on the development of a new draft of the Corporate Governance Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan Mikhail Kuznetsov, as well as the founder of Kazakhstan Brand Incubator, an international consultant and business coach of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Hayka Alemi, who, being the first corporate Secretary of KMG EP JSC, and helped to bring the company to IPO in 2006 on the London Stock Exchange.

During the online meeting, issues of the development of corporate governance in Kazakhstan were discussed, the draft Corporate Governance Code, as well as a software product for automating the work of collegial bodies of companies were presented.
