From 28 to 30 August, Baiterek NMH JSC, the Darmen Sadvakasov Chess Academy and the Bolashak Association will organize an online children's rapid chess tournament - the Cup of International Grandmaster Darmen Sadvakasov. About 600 young Kazakhstani talents are expected to participate in the competition dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main objective of the event - to support the domestic talent that quarantine period and closed international borders in need of high-quality tournament practice.
The competition is held among boys and girls in three age groups: 2002-2005, 2006-2009, as well as 2010 and younger. The prize fund will be 2.6 million tenge. At the same time, separate prizes have been established for boys and girls.
The tournament will take place on the lichess.org gaming platform in 9 rounds according to the Swiss system. Time control - 15 minutes + 10 seconds per move for each participant until the end of the game.
Applications for participation in the competition are accepted by e-mail email@example.com, registration deadline is no later than August 24 until 18:00 Nur-Sultan time. The application must be accompanied by a copy of an identity document and a mobile phone number. More than 200 players have already registered.
The main judge of the tournament is the international arbiter, FIDE master Yerzhan Shakenov. The anti-cheating commission is headed by the international grandmaster Anuar Ismagambetov. The task of the commission is to ensure fair play and prevent various violations related to third-party tips and the use of computer programs. Fighting cheating is the main challenge of modern chess.
