‘Baiterek’ Holding held a meeting with a delegation from Mongolia on housing finance issues

‘Baiterek’ Holding held a meeting with a delegation from Mongolia on housing finance issues

On 24 February, ‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding JSC hosted a meeting between the Holding's Managing Director, Niyaz Koshkimbayev, and a delegation from Mongolia. The meeting aimed to study Kazakhstan's experience in housing finance, asset management, and the implementation of state programmes to support affordable housing.

The Mongolian delegation included Dagdandorj Amgalanbaatar, Chief Advisor to the Prime Minister of Mongolia and head of the delegation, as well as Dorjina Bayarkhuu, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Mongolia to the Republic of Kazakhstan. The delegation also comprised heads of key ministries and agencies responsible for housing policy, digitalisation, and social protection in Mongolia.

The parties discussed key aspects of Kazakhstan's experience in housing finance, including:

  • The role of 'Baiterek’ National Managing Holding JSC in Kazakhstan's housing market and its financing mechanisms;
  • Successful examples of state involvement in housing policy;
  • Opportunities for international cooperation and attracting investment in large-scale housing projects through ‘Baiterek’ Holding;
  • The development of mortgage lending and subsidies for socially vulnerable groups;
  • Measures to enhance energy efficiency and sustainability in residential projects.

Special attention was given to the prospects for cooperation under Mongolia’s New Recovery Policy Accelerator (NRPA) programme, which aims to improve housing conditions, develop infrastructure, promote the green economy, and enhance public administration efficiency.

"We are pleased to share our experience in housing finance and infrastructure development with our Mongolian colleagues. Kazakhstan has gained significant expertise in implementing state programmes aimed at providing affordable housing, and we are confident that cooperation with Mongolia will create new opportunities for joint projects and investments in this area," said Niyaz Koshkimbayev.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness for further exchange of experience and cooperation in the field of housing policy, including through joint projects and programmes.
