Aidar Arifkhanov was appointed Chairman of the Management Board of "Baiterek" National Management Holding" JSC in December 2017. He has over 20 years of experience in public service and in the field of corporate governance.
In 2004-2017, he held the positions of Vice Minister of Finance, Deputy Head of the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Vice Minister of Labor and Social Welfare, Advisor to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chairman of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Informatization and Communications, Managing Director of "Kazakhtelecom", Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, Acting Chairman of the Management Board of "NAC "Kazatomprom" JSC, Vice Minister of National Economy, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of "Baiterek" NMH" JSC.
From 1997 to 2004, he worked as the chief specialist of the program and social loans department of the Foreign Borrowing Committee, the head of the program and social loan departments, the implementation of loans of the State External Loans and State Guarantees Department, the head of the Government Loans and State Guarantees Department, and the Deputy Director of the State Debt and Credit Department Ministry of Finance.
He graduated from the Kazakh State Academy of Management, the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as part of the presidential program "Bolashak" - Columbia University (USA).
By order of the Minister of Investment and Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan J. Kasymbek dated January 10, 2018 No. 11 “On the composition of the Board of the "National Management Holding" "Baiterek”, the Board of Directors of the "National Management Holding “Baiterek” was elected.
