On June 10-11, 2022, Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, paid a working visit to the Kostanay Region. He visited the facilities funded by Baiterek Holding.
During the trip, Kanat Sharlapayev met with Arkhimed Mukhambetov, Akim of the Kostanay Region, and discussed cooperation with local executive bodies.
Kostanay Region encompasses large industrial and agricultural enterprises. Almost all Holding’s subsidiaries contribute to the development of the country’s economy by funding industrial projects, small and medium-sized businesses, the agro-industrial complex, and the construction industry.
Thus, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan is now financing six projects, with two more being under consideration.
Over the past six years, KazakhExport JSC insured 14 local exporters with 97.2 billion tenge.
The Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund finances small and medium-sized businesses. In 2021, the fund financed 1,837 projects with 59.5 billion tenge.
Starting from 2009, the Agrarian Credit Corporation helped implement 21 projects worth 20.5 billion tenge in the Kostanay Region. The financing amounted to 17.3 billion tenge; 470 jobs have been created. Last year KazAgroFinance JSC financed the purchase of 637 units of agricultural machinery and equipment with 18.9 billion tenge.
The Kazakhstan Housing Company supports the housing sector through the programs of Otbasy Bank.
During the meeting, the Akimat proposed to accelerate leasing financing procedures, create a preferential loan program for the purchase of agricultural machinery, extend the loan terms, and involve the Damu Fund in the regional program of concessional financing.
During the visit, the head of the Holding inspected four projects in the industrial zone of Kostanay, which were funded by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan and the Industrial Development Fund. These four projects are an iron foundry and a truck parts manufacturing plant of the KamLitKZ LLP, a car factory of the SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP, and an agricultural machinery plant of the AgromashHolding KZ LLP.
– The Kostanay Region is the leader in the machine-building industry in Kazakhstan. The projects that are being implemented here will help satisfy the domestic demand for machinery and spare parts. The agricultural machinery plant is a unique and important project. It is expected to produce parts and assemblies for all our agricultural manufacturers. In addition, the plant will have a training center, a hostel for 100 people, and all the necessary infrastructure, – said Kanat Sharlapayev.
During the visit to the truck parts manufacturing plant, Kanat Sharlapayev met with Yuri Gerasimov, First Deputy General Director of KAMAZ PJSC.
It should be noted that Baiterek Holding also supports the metallurgical industry in the region. Kanat Sharlapayev visited the Evraz Caspian Steel’s plant for the production of small-section hot-rolled steel (steel reinforcement), the construction of which was financed by the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. Today, the company intends to expand its production with the help of the KazakhExport JSC.
The Agrarian Credit Corporation and the Development Bank of Kazakhstan have also supported two agricultural enterprises: a feedlot of the Terra LLP and the flour milling enterprise of the Best Kostanay LLP.
The working visit proved to be fruitful. According to Kanat Sharlapayev, Baiterek Holding is always open to any proposals and intends to strengthen cooperation with regional companies to help them increase their export potential.
– Our task is to establish cooperation not only with major cities but also work with regions. It is necessary to travel and see what is happening on the ground and how the funds are used. We must conduct a direct dialogue with our clients, people who do business in Kazakhstan, – he stated.
It should be noted that the Holding’s delegation also included Nurbolat Aidapkelov (First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding), Ruslan Iskakov (Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan), Aslan Kaligazin (Chairman of the Board of KazakhExport Export Insurance Company), Nurlan Baibazarov (Chairman of the Board of the Industrial Development Fund).
