Baiterek Holding and Turkish KOSGEB Are Developing Cooperation

The Chairman of the Board of “Baiterek” National Managing Holding” JSC, Aidar Arifkhanov, has met with the President of the Organization for the Support of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises in Turkey (KOSGEB) Cevahir Uzkurt.

During the conversation, Aidar Arifkhanov spoke about the activities of the Holding and the role of Damu Fund in the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Kazakhstan.

- Currently, the share of SMEs in Kazakhstan’s GDP is about 27-28%. By 2050, this figure should reach 50%. Therefore, the Holding, being a key development institution, faces an ambitious challenge. We have Damu Fund, which deals mainly with financial support measures. But it is also necessary to pay attention to non-financial instruments, - the head of the Holding believes.

As it was noted by the parties, cooperation between Damu Fund and KOSGEB is being actively developed. On September 12 last year, the Roadmap on cooperation between the two organizations was signed, providing specific activities. Advanced experience and best practices are being shared within its implementation.

- While cooperating with you, we would like to organize B2B meetings and exchange of experts. Following our state policy and the instructions of our President, we are working to strengthen economic relations with Kazakhstan. We are always ready for any relations between our countries, - Cevahir Uzkurt assured in his turn.

Aidar Arifkhanov noted that as the sole shareholder of Damu Fund, Baiterek Holding is ready to support these initiatives and assist in promoting mutually beneficial cooperation.

It should be noted that the management of KOSGEB and representatives of Turkish businesses have visited the city of Nur-Sultan to participate in “ULTTYQ O’NIM-2019” exhibition of Kazakhstani producers.
