Baiterek Holding took part in a media training on the national project MEKS

On May 13, a media training was held in Shymkent on information support of the national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors" (MEKS). Baiterek National Investment Holding JSC was represented at the event by Managing Director Ruslan Tiulegenov.

The training was organized by the MEX project office. It was attended by representatives of central government agencies, the quasi-public sector, natural monopolies and regional media. The speakers were representatives of the relevant committees of the Ministry of National Economy, the Ministry of Industry and Construction, the Ministry of Energy, Kazakhstan Center for Modernization and Development of Housing and Utilities JSC, as well as Baiterek Holding.

During the event, the goals and current results of the IECS implementation, mechanisms for financing and modernizing the utility infrastructure, the problems of natural monopolies and the practice of implementing projects at the regional level were discussed. Special attention was paid to the issues of information support for the national project and the interaction of state bodies with the media.

In his speech, Ruslan Tiulegenov, Managing Director of Baiterek Holding, noted that to date, the holding has considered applications for the Turkestan region for a total amount of about 9 billion tenge. In addition, within the framework of the IECS, it is planned to finance projects in the city of Shymkent through the purchase of government securities of local executive bodies.

During the discussion, clarifications were given on the terms of financing within the competence of the Holding.

For reference: The national project "Modernization of the Energy and Utilities Sectors" is being implemented until 2029 and is aimed at reducing the deterioration of infrastructure by up to 40% and reducing the accident rate by 20%. The expected results of MECS are an increase in the quality and reliability of utilities, clean water and improvement of the environment.
