Due to the nature of its activities, the Holding does not have a significant direct impact on the environment. The main resources consumed by the Holding are electricity, heat and water.

The Holding applies principles and methods of efficient resource use that best ensure the prevention of adverse environmental impacts.

In its operations, the Holding seeks to reduce excessive resource consumption and minimise its existing negative environmental impact by introducing energy-efficient technologies, reducing water consumption and decreasing paper consumption for office needs through the implementation of an electronic document management system and double-sided printing practices.

The Holding has approved the Green Office Concept, which sets out the goals, objectives and principles of a green office, as well as approaches to greening the office and proposed measures.

The goals of developing the Green Office Concept are:

• reducing the negative impact of the Holding’s activities on the environment;

• providing environmental education for employees;

• improving resource efficiency.

The principles of the Holding’s Green Office Concept are based on the three Rs: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle:

• Reduce. Under this principle, a green office should seek to reduce the consumption of natural resources: electricity, water, paper and heat. This is achieved using modern technologies and equipment, as well as organisational and awareness-raising measures.

• Reuse. This principle focuses on the use of consumables, including paper, stationery and office equipment, made from recycled materials.

• Recycle. The key to this principle is the proper disposal of used materials: sorting all waste, collecting wastepaper for recycling, and properly disposing of office equipment and batteries.

Award of the Platinum Smart Plastic Zone Label

Under the Smart Plastic Zone environmental project, Baiterek Holding became the first financial sector organisation in Kazakhstan to receive the highest status — the Platinum label — for implementing sustainable plastic use practices and contributing to environmental responsibility. The Holding’s subsidiaries received the Gold label, confirming a unified and systematic approach to ESG initiatives. Receiving the Platinum label reinforces Baiterek Holding’s position as a leader in environmental innovation and serves as a benchmark for other organisations pursuing sustainable development.

Green Initiatives

The Holding implements a range of measures annually under the Green Office Concept.

In 2026, a recertification audit was conducted for compliance with ST RK ISO 14001-2016 (ISO 14001:2015), “Environmental Management Systems”.

Wastepaper sent for recycling: 1,293 kg.

A collection box has been installed on the first floor of the business centre, where items can be donated for subsequent distribution to charitable foundations and low-income families.

A reverse vending machine has been installed to collect aluminium cans and plastic bottles.

A pet food collection box has been installed for subsequent donations to a shelter for homeless animals.

The Holding also regularly carries out awareness-raising activities, including:

• providing Green Office training for the Holding’s employees;

• organising community clean-up activities;

• distributing information to raise employees’ environmental awareness – “Paper-Free Day”, “Car-Free Day”, “Energy Saving Day” and other initiatives.

Resource conservation signs are displayed on the Holding’s floors. Separate waste collection bins have also been installed.

The Holding Group’s business centre was built using resource-saving technologies. Normal, emergency and maintenance lighting systems are provided. Fluorescent light sources are used. The glazed façade helps reduce electricity consumption. Motion sensors have also been installed in areas of temporary occupancy to save electricity.
