On August 27, Zhandos Shaikhy, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, held a meeting with a delegation from the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC). The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation in the agro-industrial sector, trade, and cooperative ventures.
The primary topic of discussion was collaboration in the agricultural industry, particularly the import of Kazakhstani agricultural products and attracting investments to develop agro-technological infrastructure. The ACFSMC delegation expressed a keen interest in launching joint projects to increase the supply of grain, oilseeds, and meat from Kazakhstan. They also explored the potential for joint initiatives in processing agricultural products and implementing advanced technologies in agriculture, such as smart irrigation systems and innovative cultivation methods.
Both parties stressed the importance of sustainable development in the agricultural sector. They also discussed strategies to share expertise in managing agricultural cooperatives. Additionally, the ACFSMC representatives highlighted their intent to establish closer ties with their Kazakh counterparts, aiming to foster knowledge exchange and technological collaboration, ultimately improving the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex in both countries.
Background information: The All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives (ACFSMC) was established in 1954 and is the largest cooperative network in China, comprising over 37,000 cooperatives and serving 32 million individual members. In 2023, the organization achieved a total turnover of 7.3 trillion yuan. ACFSMC’s activities span various sectors, including wholesale and retail trade, logistics, financial services, agricultural production, and e-commerce.
