The Senate’s Club of Young Experts hosts meeting

Today, the meeting of the Club of Young Experts operating under the Senate was held. It was attended by Maulen Ashimbayev, the Speaker of the Senate. The participants discussed the implementation of the President’s economic development plan.

Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, also participated in the meeting. He spoke about the Holding’s strategy of working in the new economic conditions and the measures the Holding is taking to implement the President’s instructions.

In his speech, Maulen Ashimbayev focused on the tasks set by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to reform some of the Holding's subsidiaries.

The Speaker of the Senate noted the Holding’s contribution to the development of the country’s economy, in particular, its providing support to businesses, ensuring successful export strategy, financing the agro-industrial complex, and providing people with affordable housing.

– There are still problems that hinder the development of the manufacturing industry: the lack of affordable loans, high currency risk for private investors, and physical depreciation of production facilities. We also experience a shortage in qualified personnel. Moreover, we still don’t have a technical and non-tariff regulation system to protect the domestic market. The lack of funding remains to be the main obstacle to industrialization and business development. Baiterek Holding’s subsidiaries are called upon to solve this problem, – said the Chairman of the Senate.

During the meeting, members of the Club of Young Experts presented their ideas to improve the activities of Baiterek Holding’s subsidiaries. The experts agreed that the Holding’s corporate center is crucial in ensuring effective work. The experts also noted the Holding’s support for the manufacturing industry, its housing policy, and the effectiveness and availability of state support measures for small and medium-sized businesses.
