Singapore is a cooperation vector

On behalf of the Head of State, Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Sagintayev makes a working visit to Singapore. Business forum, business meetings with the leading innovation institutions were held under the official program. In addition, the HDB Office, A *Star Agency for Science, Technology and Research, Biopolis Research Center, Fusionopolis startup hub, and other objects were visited. Chairman of the Management Board Aidar Arifkhanov took part in the delegation work.

About 500 business representatives of the two countries, heads of state bodies and national companies took part in the Kazakhstan-Singapore business forum. During the event, an exchange of views took place on a wide range of issues regarding deepening trade and economic cooperation, the development of priority areas for interaction between business structures and the implementation of promising investment projects.

The potential for increasing cooperation in such areas as innovation, transport and logistics, housing, as well as the development of the manufacturing industry and non-primary exports was emphasized during the multilateral negotiations.

During the welcoming address to the participants of the forum the Prime Minister B. Sagintayev notes that in Kazakhstan, we have already created an innovation cluster. Its core is represented by Nazarbayev University, the Park of Innovative Technologies, and the International Center for IT Startups Astana Hub. In addition the law on venture financing is adopted. All this creates favorable conditions for the development of an innovation ecosystem, technologies, and venture businesses.

- “Today I offered the Baiterek National Holding to work with their colleagues from Enterprise Singapore on creation of a joint venture fund to promote start-ups through, and with the help of Singapore, to the countries of Southeast Asia, as well as in the opposite direction — including markets of the EEU countries” – noted B. Sagintayev.

During the forum the Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek Holding Aidar Arifkhanov took part in the ceremony of three final documents signing: Memorandum of Understanding on Venture Capital Financing between Baiterek National Holding Company and ENTERPRISE SINGAPORE BOARD; Memorandum of Intent on Venture Fund Creation between Baiterek NMH, ABC-I2BF Seed Fund LLP and PALADIGM CAPITAL PTE. LTD; Memorandum of Understanding on Housing and Affordable Housing between Baiterek NMH JSC and Singapore Cooperation Enterprise;
