Rustam Karagoyshin Met with the Chinese Company Lihua

Rustam Karagoyshin, Chairman of the Management Board of ‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding JSC, met with representatives of the Chinese company Lihua (Group) Co., Ltd. The purpose of the visit was to discuss cooperation in implementing a major investment project—the creation of a cotton-textile cluster in the Turkestan Region.

The project aims to create an agro-industrial complex with a full production cycle—from cotton cultivation on 60,000 hectares in the Otyrar and Arys districts to the manufacturing of finished textile products. The total investment is estimated at over 200 billion tenge. Plans include the construction of ten industrial facilities, including four cotton processing plants, two enterprises for the production of drip irrigation systems with water-saving technologies, as well as spinning, sewing, weaving, and dyeing and finishing factories, all located in the ‘TURAN’ Special Economic Zone.

As of today, a PVC pipe manufacturing plant has been commissioned, with textile mills, as well as irrigation and energy infrastructure, still under construction. The launch of the first finished goods manufacturing is scheduled for October this year.

Rustam Karagoyshin, Chairman of the Management Board of ‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding JSC, noted:

This will be the largest project of its kind in Central Asia, fostering the use of modern agro-technologies, increasing added value, and enhancing the export potential of the domestic light industry.
