Rustam Karagoishin: 'We aim to attract long-term investments'

On September 5-6, 2024, the Astana International Financial Center hosted the Astana Finance Days conference, which gathered over 3,000 participants from more than 70 countries. Since its inception in 2018, the conference has served as a key platform for addressing current issues in the financial sector, investments, and innovations in Central Asia.

The theme of the 2024 conference was "Innovations. Investments. Impact," highlighting the desire to explore advanced technologies, investment opportunities in Kazakhstan, and the role of finance in the region's sustainable development. The event features representatives from government agencies, the financial sector, businesses, and investors who come together to examine the opportunities and challenges within the financial landscape.

During the key session titled "Finance, Law and Development: Shaping the Future of Infrastructure Investments in the Region," Rustam Karagoishin, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, delivered a report. He emphasized the importance of attracting "smart" investments for long-term projects, particularly given Central Asia's critical role in the global economy.

"Over the past two years, we have witnessed a growing willingness among investors to commit to the region's infrastructure, despite associated risks, as they recognize Central Asia's strategic importance to Europe and China. Our goal is to attract long-term investments that will benefit citizens, enhance service quality, and foster sustainable economic prospects," stated Rustam Karagoishin.

The conference also featured a meeting of the Management Council of the Astana International Financial Center, chaired by Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.

Following the business program, an official reception took place in partnership with the Eurasian Bank, where Baiterek Holding was honored with the Leader in ESG award.
