New prospects for cooperation

Meeting of the Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of “National Managing Holding “Baiterek” JSC Anuar Omarkhojayev and Non-resident Ambassador of Singapore in Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan Zulkifli bin Baharudin was held in Astana on July 5.

During the negotiations, A. Omarkhojayev noted the importance of economic cooperation in the long-term partnership between Kazakhstan and Singapore.

“Our meeting was held on the opening day of the International Financial Center “Astana”, which was established on the initiative of the Head of State and destined to become a new financial and investment magnet. One of the key areas of the Holding activity is attraction of investments, therefore we are particularly expecting the effect of AIFC work. We also hope that this will become the basis for new Kazakh-Singapore projects in which our holding and subsidiaries can take an active part” - said Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of “NMH “Baiterek” JSC.

Within the framework of promising areas of cooperation discussing, the heads of the subsidiaries of the Holding - Development Bank of Kazakhstan, “Baiterek Development”, Housing Guarantee Fund, Kazakhstan Project Preparation Fund, KazakhExport, Kazyna Capital Management - told about the companies' activities and opportunities to attract Singapore investments. In particular, it was noted that to date 184 enterprises with Singaporean capital have already been registered in Kazakhstan.

In turn, Ambassador Zulkifli bin Baharudin emphasized the special status of Kazakh-Singaporean relationships on the international stage.

“We cooperate in all the areas, because we have the same tasks and conditions for development. Our countries are shining example for all who wants to achieve high economic results in the shortest possible time. Fortunately, we have such companies as “Baiterek” Holding that have common purposes and speak the same language. It is thanks to such companies, and now the establishment of the AIFC, that our countries can enter a new level of relationships” - the Ambassador of Singapore said.

As a result of negotiations, the parties reached an agreement on further cooperation within the framework of perspective investment directions.
