Jańa Dala / Green Day: Baiterek Holding to Allocate KZT 1.7 Trillion to Support Agriculture in 2026

As part of the exhibition, Holding specialists advise farmers on financing opportunities

The specialized exhibition “Kazakhstan Field Day Jańa Dala / Green Day 2026”, one of the country’s largest industry events dedicated to crop production and livestock farming, has opened in the village of Nuresil, Tselinograd District, Akmola Region. Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC and its subsidiaries are actively participating in the exhibition.

The Holding implements a wide range of state support measures for the agricultural sector through its subsidiaries — Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC and KazAgroFinance JSC.

According to Niyaz Koshkimbayev, Managing Director of Baiterek Holding, financing for the agricultural sector has increased two to threefold over the past three years.

“Last year, the Government allocated KZT 1.1 trillion for the systematic development of the agro-industrial complex, and these funds were fully utilized for their intended purposes. Maintaining this positive momentum, this year we plan to allocate approximately KZT 1.2 trillion for comprehensive support of agriculture and improving its efficiency. We are confident that these funds will also be utilized effectively and on time.

At present, Agrarian Credit Corporation is actively implementing the financing program for spring fieldwork and harvesting campaigns, which are the most critical periods for farmers. By the end of the year, KZT 750 billion has been allocated for these purposes, of which KZT 650 billion has already been disbursed to agricultural producers. As a result, more than 7,200 agricultural producers across the country, including small and medium-sized farms, have received government support.

In addition, we pay considerable attention not only to crop production but also to livestock development. This year, more than KZT 200 billion in budget funds has been allocated to finance the Birlik, Igilik, and Zhailau programs aimed at increasing livestock numbers, developing pedigree livestock breeding, and supporting rural entrepreneurship,” he said.

According to him, these programs have only recently been launched. Financing can be obtained directly through Agrarian Credit Corporation. Starting this year, they are also being implemented through Social Entrepreneurial Corporations (SECs), regional financial institutions, and second-tier banks.

Niyaz Koshkimbayev emphasized that today Baiterek Holding is evolving from merely administering state support programs into an active driver of the country's economic development.

“Today, Baiterek Holding is no longer limited to distributing state support measures but is becoming an active driver of economic growth. We no longer wait for ready-made projects; instead, we independently build our investment portfolio and seek promising partners,” he noted.

One of the key instruments will be the new Investment Order program, under which the Government will identify priority sectors and products in short supply, including those in the agro-industrial complex and household chemicals industry, while offering investors ready-to-implement business projects.

Currently, the Holding has begun updating its long-term development strategy, taking into account its expanding investment role.

Makhanbet Turmakhanov, Director of the Astana Branch of Agrarian Credit Corporation JSC, reported that over the entire period of the Corporation’s operations, KZT 6.1 trillion has been allocated to support the agro-industrial sector.

“As a result, more than 190,000 agricultural enterprises have received state support. Projects financed by the Corporation currently account for 66% of milk production, 59% of poultry meat, 47% of pasta products, 45% of vegetable oil, 33% of bread, and 28% of chicken eggs among the total production of these socially significant food products in Kazakhstan.

Overall, this year KZT 1 trillion is planned to be directed toward agricultural development through Agrarian Credit Corporation and KazAgroFinance JSC,” he noted.

According to him, a significant share of financing is provided through the 5% concessional agricultural machinery leasing program, whose total volume reached KZT 209.1 billion. Under this program, farmers acquired 6,381 units of agricultural machinery.

“During the first six months of the year, 3,931 agricultural producers used the company's services, while the total value of applications received has already reached KZT 311.5 billion, demonstrating continued strong demand for the modernization of the agricultural machinery fleet. Overall, this confirms that Agrarian Credit Corporation is transforming from a traditional lending institution into one of the key institutions driving the structural modernization of Kazakhstan’s agro-industrial complex,” he said.

Yerkebulan Zhumzhayev, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of KazAgroFinance JSC, reported that during the first half of 2026, more than 6,300 units of agricultural machinery worth approximately KZT 250 billion were provided under leasing agreements.

“Compared to the same period last year, this figure has doubled. At that time, financing totaled around KZT 125 billion. The greatest demand has been for the Made in Kazakhstan concessional leasing program, under which KZT 210 billion has already been financed. As a result, more than 4,000 agricultural producers have received support,” Yerkebulan Zhumzhayev noted.

Additional financing opportunities are being provided by the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund. During the exhibition, the Fund’s specialists are advising entrepreneurs on state guarantees, subsidy mechanisms, and concessional financing programs.

In the first half of 2026, the Fund supported 3,600 projects with a total loan portfolio of KZT 1.06 trillion. Within the agro-industrial sector alone, 1,649 projects received support totaling KZT 240.6 billion.

The exhibition’s demonstration areas feature modern agricultural machinery, including tractors, seed drills, sprayers, and tillage equipment, with live field demonstrations showcasing their operation. Visitors are also presented with the capabilities of modern agricultural drones.

As part of the livestock program, exhibitions and competitions featuring pedigree cattle of the Angus, Auliekol, Hereford, Kazakh White-headed, Kalmyk, and Aubrac breeds have been organized. Following the events, open auctions for the sale of pedigree bulls were held.
