The IX annual exhibition of domestic manufacturers Ulttyq Ónim - 2026 has started in the capital at the site of the EXPO International Exhibition Center.
This year, the exhibition has become the largest in the history of the exhibition - more than 600 SMEs from all regions of the country present their products. The event is organized by the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund (a subsidiary of Baiterek).
Ulttyq ónim is one of the largest exhibition venues aimed at demonstrating the potential and promoting the goods and services of Kazakhstani companies that have received state support.
The exhibition presents the products of enterprises of the food, light, heavy and chemical industries, mechanical engineering, furniture and construction production. For the first time, a separate area is presented in the service sector - medicine, education, tourism, IT and the creative industry.
At the opening ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Serik Zhumangarin noted the importance of systemic support for domestic entrepreneurship, the development of the manufacturing sector and the expansion of opportunities for small and medium-sized businesses. He also read out a congratulatory letter from the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov.
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev pays special attention to the development of small and medium-sized businesses, which are a key driver of economic growth. The state is consistently implementing a set of measures aimed at supporting and improving the business environment, expanding business activity and strengthening economic potential. Today, the contribution of SMEs to the country's economy has reached 40%, and the number of people employed in the sector is about 4.5 million people. In the new Constitution, one of the fundamental principles of the state's activity is to improve the well-being of the people, promote the idea of responsible, creative patriotism. Domestic producers are a vivid example of the implementation of these principles. For further sustainable growth entrepreneurial activity, support for production initiatives will continue, including import substitution and increasing export potential, the introduction of modern technologies and the creation of new points of economic growth in the regions," the congratulatory letter says.
During his visit to the exhibition, the Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy got acquainted with the activities of a number of represented enterprises. Among them is the Phoenix Furniture Factory, which produces school furniture, office chairs and chairs for social and commercial facilities Today the factory produces up to 60 thousand chairs per year, about 40 thousand units of school furniture, 7 thousand office chairs and other furniture products. The share of Kazakhstani content is 96% - the company uses mainly domestic raw materials. Having a production base in Pavlodar, the factory supplies products to educational institutions throughout the country.
He also got acquainted with the products and developments of enterprises in the fields of mechanical engineering, light, food and chemical industries, agro-industrial complex, digitalization and artificial intelligence. The presented companies demonstrate a high level of Kazakhstani content, contribute to import substitution, job creation and the development of the country's export potential.
"The government of the country provides comprehensive support to SMEs. To increase the availability of financing and support more entrepreneurs, the Damu Fund has significantly expanded guarantee instruments, strengthened market support mechanisms through the Orleu and Orleu-Leasing concessional lending programs to modernize the equipment of manufacturing enterprises, and also launched a program of comprehensive support for micro and small businesses in small towns and villages of Isker Aimak. On the basis of the regional branches of the Fund, we have created Unified Front Offices for all business support programs of Baiterek Holding, and mobile front offices are being launched for remote areas - special minibuses on which specialists will travel to remote areas to advise entrepreneurs. In 2025 alone, more than 560 billion tenge was allocated for business development through the Damu Fund . As a result, about 13 thousand projects for a total amount of loans of 2.2 trillion tenge received support. Thanks to these measures, more than 14 thousand new jobs were created and over 143 thousand jobs were saved. Enterprises produced products worth 27.7 trillion tenge, and the volume of tax revenues amounted to about 2 trillion tenge", said Farhat Sarsekeyev, Chairman of the Board of the Damu Fund.
