From June 3 to 6, 2025, as part of Kazakhstan’s multi-sectoral business mission to Belgium and Luxembourg, the Third Meeting of the Belgian-Kazakh Business Council took place, along with a series of business meetings with representatives of the Benelux business community.
On June 4 in Brussels, Timur Onzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek National Managing Holding, spoke at the Business Council’s panel session dedicated to investment, trade, and export potential. In his remarks, he presented the activities of the Holding and its subsidiaries implementing state support measures for non-resource exports, small and medium-sized businesses, as well as infrastructure and innovation projects.
“Belgium is among the largest investors in Kazakhstan’s economy. We are interested in strengthening bilateral cooperation and are open to partnerships with representatives of Belgian business. Baiterek Holding offers a wide range of support instruments, including export insurance, investment project financing, and assistance in technology transfer,” noted Timur Onzhanov.
During the visit, Timur Onzhanov also held a meeting with representatives of the Belgian export credit agency Credendo, where opportunities for cooperation in export insurance and joint financial solutions to support Kazakhstani companies were discussed.
The event brought together over 50 representatives of Kazakhstani and Belgian companies, chambers of commerce and industry, and investment agencies. Promising areas of cooperation in logistics, green energy, agro-industrial complex, and the digital economy were discussed. The Council’s meeting also included presentations by Kazakhstani companies and bilateral negotiations with potential partners.
On June 6, the business program continued in Luxembourg. Timur Onzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Holding, took part in a roundtable organized by the Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (LuxCham). During the meeting, he presented the Holding’s approaches to supporting export-oriented and investment projects and emphasized the interest in expanding business cooperation with Luxembourgish companies. The event featured presentations by Kazakhstani companies, industry overviews, and B2B meetings.
