‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding Participated in the XII Forum of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan

As part of the 6th International Specialized Exhibition for Mechanical Engineering and Metalworking, the XII Forum of Mechanical Engineers of Kazakhstan took place. The event was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Olzhas Bektenov, as well as heads of government agencies, international organizations, industry associations, and business representatives.

In his speech, the Prime Minister emphasized the significance of the mechanical engineering sector in ensuring sustainable economic growth. Over the past five years, the sector’s share in the manufacturing industry increased from 13% to 19%, while production volume reached KZT 4.6 trillion. He highlighted the importance of increasing localization, introducing advanced technologies — including elements of artificial intelligence — and developing human capital.

At the plenary session, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of ‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding Jandos Shaikhi delivered a report outlining the Holding’s key areas of activity in supporting domestic mechanical engineering.

In line with the objectives set by the Government, ‘Baiterek’ National Managing Holding plans to allocate approximately KZT 8 trillion in 2025 to support entrepreneurship, housing construction, and the implementation of priority national and investment projects.

To enhance the effectiveness of financial support instruments and ensure transparency of financing terms, the Holding’s subsidiaries and affiliates have introduced a unified annual interest rate of 12.6%. This approach aims to establish uniform financing conditions for enterprises in the manufacturing sector.

Additionally, to expand access to credit resources for small and medium-sized businesses, the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund offers guarantees of up to 85% for projects in the mechanical engineering sector. The irrevocable and unconditional nature of these guarantees effectively reduces credit risks and encourages second-tier banks to participate in financing production projects.

The Industrial Development Fund JSC, which is part of the Holding’s group of companies, provides systematic support for domestic mechanical engineering, recognizing the high importance and technological complexity of the sector, as well as its long-term economic impact on the country. As part of the development of the manufacturing industry, the Fund has financed 27 projects for the modernization and construction of mechanical engineering plants, with a total investment exceeding KZT 453 billion.

Thanks to this support, domestic enterprises have gained access to modern equipment, which has allowed them to significantly upgrade and expand production capacities, modernize fleets of industrial vehicles in the country’s regions, and improve the level of technical equipment in key sectors of the economy.

“In addition, the Industrial Development Fund JSC is currently working to support projects aimed at increasing production localization. This will result in higher local content, job creation, and increased tax revenues. The gradual introduction of new technological operations will have a long-term positive impact on the national economy,” noted Azat Abaidildin, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of the Industrial Development Fund JSC.

The event served as a platform for discussing measures to deepen localization, adopt new technologies, develop international cooperation, and create conditions for attracting investment. Achievements of more than 200 companies from 20 countries were showcased, including innovations in the transport, defense, and energy industries.
