On September 9, 2025, “Baiterek” National Managing Holding JSC hosted a meeting between Deputy Chairmen of the Management Board Zhandos Shaikhy and Timur Onzhanov and the management of the South Korean company Seoyon E-HWA, a leading manufacturer of automotive components.
From the Kazakh side, the meeting was attended by heads of relevant Holding departments, as well as representatives of Development Bank of Kazakhstan JSC, Industrial Development Fund JSC, and Kazakh Invest National Company JSC. Seoyon E-HWA was represented by Cho In Jae, General Director for Business Development in Kazakhstan, and Chief Financial Officer Kim Jong Hyun, along with project partners from ARCUS Invest LLP.
During the discussions, the parties reviewed a plan to localize automotive component production in Kazakhstan for the KIA Qazaqstan project and other upcoming automotive plants. In particular, the construction of a plant in the Kostanay region is planned, with an annual capacity of up to 50,000 component sets (including car seats, bumpers, and more).
“The joint project with Seoyon E-HWA within the Kostanay cluster will significantly increase the level of localization in Kazakhstan’s automotive industry. Baiterek Holding stands ready to provide comprehensive support to investors to ensure the successful launch of production and the development of export potential,” emphasized Zhandos Shaikhy.
The new enterprise is expected to make an additional contribution to the development of Kazakhstan’s engineering sector, create new jobs, and strengthen the country’s position in the regional automotive supply chain.
Seoyon E-HWA is one of the world’s leading automotive component manufacturers for Hyundai and Kia, producing both interior parts (door panels, consoles, seats) and exterior parts (bumpers, trims). The company actively introduces smart manufacturing technologies and eco-friendly materials, expands its global network of plants, and holds a strong position in the international automotive supply chain.
