Baiterek National Managing Holding and the QID Association Sign a Memorandum on Strategic Cooperation

A memorandum of cooperation was signed in Astana between Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC and the Qazaq Independent Directors (QID) Association. The document was signed by Vyacheslav Son, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek Holding, and Elmira Abakanova, Executive Director of the QID Association.

The agreement aims to develop the institution of independent board members, improve corporate governance mechanisms, and enhance transparency and accountability in the corporate sector. The joint work will include the formation of a professional talent pool, the implementation of modern candidate selection approaches, and the promotion of educational initiatives in corporate governance.

“Building a strong pool of independent directors is a key condition for improving transparency and the effectiveness of corporate governance. I am confident that our cooperation with the QID Association will enable us to take a systematic approach to the selection and development of such professionals, as well as to introduce best practices across the entire group of companies,” said Vyacheslav Son.

Under the memorandum, the parties also intend to combine their expert potential to prepare analytical and methodological materials, conduct advisory events, and create dialogue platforms. These initiatives will strengthen independent oversight and enhance the resilience of the management system across the Holding’s group of companies.

The Qazaq Independent Directors (QID) Association is a professional organization that promotes the institution of independent directors and strengthens the culture of corporate governance in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Association brings together experts in strategic management, law, finance, and compliance, and contributes to capacity building and expanding the participation of independent members in the governance bodies of companies across various sectors.
