Baiterek Holding and EBRD Sign Memorandum on Cooperation in Infrastructure Development

On May 29, within the framework of the Astana International Forum, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between “Baiterek” National Managing Holding JSC and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

The document was signed by Rustam Karagoishin, Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek Holding, and Jürgen Rigterink, First Vice President of the EBRD.

“This memorandum will allow us to join efforts in modernizing utilities and the energy sector, identify new pilot cities, and begin concrete work on improving infrastructure. For us, this is part of a broader vision—expanding our strategic partnership with Baiterek Holding and its subsidiaries,” said Jürgen Rigterink.

The memorandum is aimed at strengthening strategic cooperation within the framework of the National Project "Modernization of the Energy and Utility Sectors." As part of the agreement, the parties are considering the preparation and implementation of investment projects to modernize water supply and wastewater systems in the cities of Aktau and Kokshetau.

“The signing of this memorandum opens up new opportunities for attracting investment into infrastructure development. Our partnership with the EBRD will enhance the investment component of our projects and ensure meaningful improvements in the utility sector,” said Rustam Karagoishin.

Further cooperation will focus on the in-depth development of the projects and effective engagement with all relevant stakeholders.
