Baiterek Holding supports the modernization of Qarmet

As part of the working trip of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Karaganda region, Chairman of the Board of the Baiterek Holding Rustam Karagoishin took part in a visit to the Qarmet metallurgical plant in Temirtau.

During the visit, Rustam Karagoishin, as part of the delegation, got acquainted with the work of the converter shop and the construction of new coke batteries.

Baiterek Holding is strategically involved in the financial support of the Qarmet modernization program. The Holding's subsidiaries are involved in the implementation of investment projects: JSC Development Bank of Kazakhstan, JSC Qazaqstan Investment Corporation, JSC Industrial Development Fund and JSC Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund.

One of the projects is the construction of coke batteries No. 8 and No. 9. The project provides for the construction of two coke oven batteries with a total production capacity of 1.5 million tons of dry coke per year. The launch is scheduled for 2027.

Another promising area of cooperation between Baiterek Holding and Qarmet is the implementation of a project to build a new rolling mill. The project provides for the creation of production facilities for the production of up to 540 thousand tons of rolled products per year. The launch is scheduled for 2026.

Kassym-Jomart Tokayev also signed a commemorative plaque symbolizing the start of construction of a new foundry and rolling complex, which is also planned to be implemented by Baiterek Holding. The project will create new production facilities and increase the production of premium types of steel.

Support for such projects contributes to strengthening the industrial potential of Kazakhstan, increasing the competitiveness of domestic metallurgy, developing the non-resource sector of the economy and creating new jobs in the Karaganda region.
