Nurbolat Aidapkelov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek National Management Holding, took part in the International Mechanical Engineering Forum and a meeting of the Kazakhstan-Austria Business Council, both held in Vienna. These events focused on enhancing bilateral cooperation in mechanical engineering and the agro-industrial complex.
The highlight of the visit was the Kazakhstan-Austria Business Council meeting, which brought together representatives from both governments and business communities. The Kazakh delegation included leaders from Baiterek Holding, Kazakhstan Temir Zholy, Kazakhstan Engineering, KazAgroFinance, and other government agencies and companies. The Federal Economic Chamber and top executives from major industrial and financial companies represented the Austrian side.
During his speech, Nurbolat Aidapkelov stressed the importance of strengthening partnerships with Austrian companies to support Kazakhstan’s economic diversification and the integration of modern technologies.
"Baiterek Holding is committed to diversifying Kazakhstan’s economy and fostering high-tech industries. We believe that strengthening business relations with Austrian partners will contribute to achieving these objectives and create new opportunities for Kazakhstani enterprises," Aidapkelov said.
Additionally, the participants noted the positive trajectory of bilateral economic relations. In 2023, trade between Kazakhstan and Austria grew by 64%, reaching $332.6 million. Since 2005, Austria's direct investment in Kazakhstan has surpassed $3 billion, underlining Austria's significant role in Kazakhstan’s economy.
Nurbolat Aidapkelov also held talks with the management of Pottinger, a leading Austrian agricultural machinery manufacturer. The meeting focused on the potential expansion of equipment supplies to Kazakhstan and the introduction of innovative solutions to benefit local farmers.
Additionally, Aidapkelov met with representatives of Agrana Group, a global leader in the processing of agricultural products. The discussions centered on potential joint projects in the agro-industrial complex to enhance the processing of agricultural raw materials in Kazakhstan.
Baiterek National Management Holding continues to strengthen international partnerships, fostering the integration of modern technologies and driving the development of key sectors within Kazakhstan’s economy.
