Top managers of Baiterek Holding visited the EXPO-2020 in Dubai as part of Kazakhstan’s delegation headed by Prime Minister Askar Mamin.
On December 1, 2021, the delegation took part in the celebration of the National Day of Kazakhstan, visited the Kazakhstan Trade and Investment Forum, and held several bilateral business meetings.
The delegation included Aidar Arifkhanov, Chairman of the Management Board, Adil Mukhamedzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, and top managers of the Holding’s subsidiaries – Gaukhar Buribaeva of the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund, Ainur Kuatova of the Kazyna Capital Management, Ruslan Iskakov of the ESC KazakhExport, and Dmitry Babichev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.
At the Investment Forum, Adil Mukhamedzhanov told Arab businessmen what Baiterek Holding is doing to attract foreign investment.
– Baiterek Holding is attracting foreign investment and, as a key governmental financial institution, subsidizes priority sectors of the economy, and supports the country's initiatives to attract foreign investment. Over the past years, we have attracted $ 3 billion worth of foreign investments by cooperating with international financial institutions and organizations, – said the Deputy Chairman.
Adil Mukhamedzhanov also spoke about the achievements of the Holding’s subsidiaries and the financial measures the Holding is taking to support projects.
Kazyna Capital Management, one of the Holding’s subsidiaries, has extensive experience in working with Arab companies. The company, which provides equity financing, is a partner of the Mubadala Investment Company and the Abu Dhabi Developmental Holding Company. In cooperation with the ADQ, a joint venture fund is being created to invest in startup companies in the early stages of their development and promising enterprises with sustainable business models.
– Baiterek Holding is financed by its sole shareholder – the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It has credit ratings at the level of the sovereign rating of our country. Therefore, our Holding is ready to support business initiatives of Kazakhstani and Arab businesses at every stage – from structuring to financing and providing export support, – concluded Adil Mukhamedzhanov.
At the end of their visit to the UAE, the delegation also held several business meetings with the Arab partners.
