"Baiterek" Holding presented opportunities for the joint financing of projects in Kazakhstan to the British business community.

The fifth meeting of the Kazakhstan-British Business Council took place in Astana. Aidyn Akan, Managing Director of the Baiterek National Investment Holding, spoke at the session titled "Financing Future Growth through Capital Markets," where he presented business support instruments and opportunities for investment cooperation.

Aidyn Akan outlined the Holding’s capabilities regarding capital attraction for priority economic sectors and the comprehensive support of investment projects.

"The Holding brings together nine development institutions, enabling us to support projects at various stages—from preparation and financing to co-investment and entry into foreign markets. We offer businesses a comprehensive suite of tools covering the entire financing cycle. This allows us to support both large-scale investment projects and small and medium-sized enterprises," he noted.

His presentation also highlighted experience in financing industry and infrastructure. The Development Bank of Kazakhstan supports major industrial and infrastructure projects; the Industrial Development Fund provides lease financing; the Qazaqstan Investment Corporation engages in equity investment; and the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan assists enterprises in entering international markets.

Addressing prospects for collaboration with foreign partners, the speaker outlined potential formats for participation in projects within Kazakhstan.

"Baiterek Holding is open to partnerships with international financial institutions, strategic investors, and companies interested in implementing projects in Kazakhstan. We are ready to consider various forms of cooperation, including co-financing, joint investments, debt instruments, equity participation, export financing, and guarantees," Aidyn Akan emphasized.

The areas of cooperation presented to the British partners focus on developing the processing sector, modernizing infrastructure, and strengthening Kazakhstan's industrial base. The Holding’s tools make it possible to combine international capital with the capabilities of domestic enterprises to implement such projects and expand non-commodity exports.
