Baiterek Holding presented Kazakhstan's investment opportunities at the Kazakh-Chinese Forum

On July 22, the Kazakhstan-China Forum on Sustainable Development of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy was held in Astana, bringing together representatives of government agencies, development institutions, industry associations, and leading companies from Kazakhstan and China. The event was organized by the China Non-Ferrous Metallurgy Association with the participation of the two countries' largest industry companies.

Zhandos Shaikhi, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board, represented JSC National Investment Holding Baiterek at the forum. In his speech, he noted that Kazakhstan is interested in attracting next-generation investments aimed at creating modern production facilities, localizing technologies, and producing high-value-added products. Baiterek Holding is ready to act as a reliable financial partner for such projects, facilitating their implementation at all stages – from the investment idea to the launch of production.

As part of the thematic session, Zhandos Shaikhi presented a report on the investment environment in Kazakhstan and the capabilities of Baiterek National Investment Holding to finance projects in the non-ferrous metallurgy sector.

In his speech, he emphasized that at the beginning of this year, the Holding was transformed into the National Investment Holding and transitioned to a new operating model focused on proactively attracting investment. It includes two mechanisms: an "investment order," which involves comprehensive project development in collaboration with government agencies and regions, and an "investor order," which involves the Holding, in conjunction with relevant agencies and foreign partners, identifying potential investors and formulating specific investment proposals for them.

"Today, Baiterek Holding operates under a new model focused on proactively attracting investment. We are ready to offer investors comprehensive solutions – from project structuring and developing an optimal financial model to attracting financing and supporting implementation. This approach enables the effective implementation of large projects in the mining and metallurgical industry and the creation of long-term partnerships," he noted.

The presentation presented Kazakhstan's investment ecosystem, the Holding's financial instruments, and practical experience in financing large projects in the mining and metals sector. It was noted that investors can receive comprehensive support, including long-term financing, equipment leasing, equity participation, guarantees, export risk insurance, and other financial instruments tailored to the specifics of each project.

The forum served as a platform for discussing the prospects for developing Kazakh-Chinese cooperation in non-ferrous metallurgy, introducing modern technologies, environmentally sustainable solutions, and implementing new investment projects. Representatives from major Chinese companies participated, including China Minmetals, Chinalco, Zijin Mining, Baiyin Nonferrous Group, Jinchuan Group, Jiangxi Copper Corporation, China ENFI Engineering Corporation, CMOC Group, and other leading industry players.

The forum was a practical continuation of the policy of expanding the Kazakh-Chinese strategic partnership and developing investment cooperation in industry. Participants noted that the agreements reached at the head of state level create additional opportunities for implementing joint projects, localizing production, transferring technology, and attracting investment in the mining and metals sector.
