Baiterek Holding Participates in World Bank Session

On June 17, 2025, Timur Onzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC, spoke at a World Bank virtual session titled "Setting Targets: Developing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for State-Owned Enterprises – Global Practices and Lessons for the Europe and Central Asia (ECA) Region."

The session was organized by the World Bank’s Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR) in collaboration with the Vienna Development Knowledge Center and the State-Owned Enterprises Community of Practice. It brought together representatives of ministries, state-owned enterprises (SOEs), and experts from Austria, Croatia, South Korea, Moldova, and Montenegro.

During his presentation, Mr. Onzhanov shared Baiterek Holding’s experience in implementing a KPI framework and building an effective corporate governance system. The participants expressed strong interest in Kazakhstan’s approach and experience.

The session focused on identifying best practices in designing KPIs for SOEs, including challenges related to data reliability and the development of context-sensitive approaches for ECA countries that are at the early stages of adopting performance measurement systems.
