The roadshow was the first large-scale presentation of the Alatau project to the Chinese business community since the adoption of the Constitutional Law "On the Special Legal Regime of Alatau City."
The central event of the program was the Alatau City Roadshow in China forum, which took place on June 10 in Shenzhen. Kanat Bozumbayev addressed the participants with a welcoming speech. Presentations were given by Alisher Abdykadyrov, Chief Executive Officer of the Alatau City Authority, and Nurbolat Aidapkelov, First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC National Investment Holding Baiterek. The forum included sessions on low-altitude economics, transport and logistics, as well as the digital economy, innovation, and advanced technologies.
The signed documents cover key sectors of the future city's economy: digital technologies and artificial intelligence, high-tech industry, logistics and transportation, construction and development, ecology and green technologies, finance and insurance. Among the most significant agreements: an agreement with Sichuan Touying Energy Co., Ltd. for the production of next-generation batteries and energy storage systems, a full-cycle agro-industrial complex project with Central Asia International Trade and Sinomach Hainan Development, as well as agreements with CIMC, Globalink, Vastta, and Wuhan Tianyuan Group. Furthermore, the construction of a high-tech, full-cycle pharmaceutical plant is envisaged.
On June 11, the Alatau City Investment Round Table was held in Hong Kong. The roundtable featured Hong Kong Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau and representatives of leading financial institutions and companies in the region. Nurbolat Aidapkelov presented the investment support and financing mechanisms available to project investors. Following the roundtable, memoranda of cooperation were exchanged between the Alatau City Authority Foundation, the Solana Foundation, Solana Company, ANT Group, and Specialist Risk Group Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd.
The visit also included meetings with Shenzhen Mayor Qin Weizhong, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Chief Executive John Lee, and heads of major Chinese corporations, including China State Construction Engineering Corporation, China International Marine Containers, China Resources Land, Ping An Group, JD Group, and Melco Resorts & Entertainment.
Following the event, 24 cooperation agreements were signed, and agreements were reached on the implementation of projects in industry, energy, logistics, high technology, urban infrastructure, and the digital economy with a total investment potential of up to $6 billion.
Implementation of the agreements reached will help attract investment, technology, and industrial expertise to Kazakhstan, develop transport and logistics infrastructure, and create new jobs.
