"Baiterek" Holding discussed the prospects of cooperation with the delegation of the Confederation of Indian Industry

On July 24, Timur Onzhanov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Baiterek National Investment Holding JSC, held a meeting with representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and leading Indian companies operating in the fields of energy, infrastructure, healthcare, industry and finance. The delegation included representatives of 12 organizations, including the Export-Import Bank of India (India Exim Bank), KEC International, Yashoda Medicity, NephroPlus, Lilavati Hospital and other companies.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the possibilities of expanding investment cooperation and implementing joint projects in Kazakhstan. Special attention was paid to the development of cooperation in the field of energy and communal infrastructure, transport, healthcare, mining, as well as export and project financing mechanisms.

Opening the meeting, Timur Onzhanov noted that Baiterek Holding, being a key development institution in Kazakhstan, is ready to consider initiatives with a sustainable business model, economic feasibility and potential for long-term development.

"India is one of Kazakhstan's important economic partners, and we see significant potential for expanding investment cooperation. Baiterek Holding is interested in implementing projects that contribute to the development of industry, infrastructure, healthcare and other priority sectors of the economy," Timur Onzhanov said.

During the presentation of the Holding's activities, the delegation participants were presented with the main results of work for 2025 and current indicators for 2026, as well as financial instruments available to support investment projects, including project and export financing, guarantees, equity participation, support for small and medium-sized businesses, the agro-industrial complex and infrastructure initiatives.

The parties paid special attention to the prospects of cooperation with India Exim Bank on co-financing instruments, credit lines, guarantees and trade finance, as well as the formation of a joint portfolio of investment projects with the participation of Indian companies.

Following the meeting, an agreement was reached to continue cooperation on developing specific investment initiatives. It is assumed that interested companies will submit project proposals, after which the relevant subsidiaries of the Holding will determine the most appropriate financing and project support mechanisms.
