"Baiterek" Holding develops investment cooperation with Morocco

As part of the official visit of the Kazakh delegation to the Kingdom of Morocco, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov, a series of meetings were held with the leadership of key government agencies and leading companies in the country.

The Kazakh delegation included Aydin Akan, Managing Director of Baiterek National Investment Holding JSC.

During the talks with the Minister of Industry and Trade of Morocco, Riyad Mezzour, the Minister of Investment, Karim Zidan, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, Redouane Arrach, as well as representatives of major Moroccan companies, the parties discussed prospects for expanding trade, economic and investment cooperation, the development of industrial cooperation, cooperation in the agro-industrial complex and the implementation of joint investment projects.

Aydin Akan noted that Kazakhstan and Morocco have significant potential for expanding cooperation in industry, the agro-industrial complex and the production of high-value-added products. According to him, cooperation with OCP, a world leader in the production of phosphorous fertilizers, is of particular interest. Kazakhstan has significant reserves of phosphate raw materials, while Morocco has advanced technologies and international expertise, which opens up opportunities for joint production aimed at the markets of Central Asia and other regions.

"We are also carefully studying Morocco's successful experience in the development of the automotive industry. The high level of localization of production and effective attraction of investments are of practical interest for Kazakhstan in the implementation of its own industrial projects," the Managing Director emphasized.

The participation of Baiterek Holding in the negotiations is aimed at developing international investment cooperation, strengthening partnerships with foreign development institutions and finding new opportunities to implement mutually beneficial projects that contribute to the sustainable economic development of Kazakhstan.
