On August 16-17, 2021, top managers of the Baiterek Holding and its subsidiaries – the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund and the Kazakhstan Housing Company (KHC) – visited Seoul as part of the delegation of President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.
Aidar Arifkhanov, Chairman of the Holding’s Management Board, took part in a meeting attended by the President of Kazakhstan and heads of large Korean companies.
During the visit, the Kazakh delegation has met with top managers of the Korea Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (KHUG), which is a partner of the KHC, and the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME), which is a partner of the Damu Fund.
Baiterek Holding, the KHC, and the KHUG have signed a trilateral Memorandum of Understanding. The parties intend to develop a system of guaranteeing shared contributions in housing construction and implement a number of joint ptojects.
– This is important for us, given that the Korean Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation has many years of experience in this area. The first memorandum with the KHUG was signed by our reorganized subsidiary, the Housing Construction Guarantee Fund, in 2018. Now this cooperation will continue with our Unified Housing Construction Operator, – said Aidar Arifkhanov.
A Memorandum of Understanding was also signed between the Damu Fund and KOSME.
The document is an update of the 2016 cooperation agreements, which expired last year. This time, the Damu Fund has studied advanced methods of supporting SMEs and adopted successful Korean techniques.
