Baiterek Holding Announces the Composition of the Board of Directors

The Sole Shareholder of Baiterek National Investment Holding Joint-Stock Company has approved the composition of the Holding's Board of Directors, consisting of 10 members, for a three-year term. The decision became effective on 6 July 2026.

The Board of Directors comprises:

• Bektenov Olzhas Abayevich – Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Chairman of the Board of Directors;
• Nalibayev Nurlybek Mashbekovich – First Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Zhumangarin Serik Makashevich – Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of National Economy of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Baibazarov Nurlan Serikovich – Assistant to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Economic Affairs;
• Takiyev Madi Tokeshovich – Minister of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Nagaspayev Yersayin Kairgazievich – Minister of Industry and Construction of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
• Karagoishin Rustam Timurovich – Chairman of the Management Board of Baiterek National Investment Holding Joint-Stock Company;
• Dr. Fred Hu – Independent Director;
• Janusz Piechociński – Independent Director;
• Dato' Charon Wardini Bin Mokhzani – Independent Director.

The newly appointed independent directors bring extensive international experience in the financial sector, investment activities, public administration and corporate governance, supporting the Holding's strategic transformation into a national investment holding. Their expertise will contribute to informed strategic decision-making, comprehensive evaluation of investment projects, effective risk management, and the implementation of the best international practices in corporate governance.

Dr. Fred Hu is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Primavera Capital Group. Previously, he served as Partner and Chairman of Goldman Sachs Greater China and worked as an economist at the International Monetary Fund. He currently serves on the Boards of Directors of UBS Group AG and Chubb Limited.

Janusz Piechociński served as Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of the Republic of Poland from 2012 to 2015. He is the Founder and President of the Poland–Asia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Dato' Charon Wardini Bin Mokhzani serves as Chairman of Export-Import Bank of Malaysia (EXIM Bank) and Syarikat Takaful Malaysia. Previously, he held senior executive positions at CIMB Group and Malaysia's sovereign wealth fund, Khazanah Nasional.
