A working meeting was held in Astana between Yersain Khamitov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC National Investment Holding Baiterek, and members of the Board of JSC Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan, Cho Hyun-seung and Kim Vitaly Afanasyevich.
During the talks, the parties discussed prospects for expanding cooperation between Baiterek Holding and Shinhan Bank Kazakhstan JSC, paying particular attention to supporting small and medium-sized businesses through the Damu Entrepreneurship Development Fund.
In particular, they discussed opportunities for collaboration within the framework of loan guarantee mechanisms and the Orleu program, as well as prospects for developing cooperation between the bank and the Damu Fund in implementing joint initiatives in business financing.
Furthermore, the parties discussed the structuring and financing of investment projects for the Holding's subsidiaries, the development of trade finance and export support instruments, including interaction with the Export Credit Agency of Kazakhstan, as well as the bank's potential participation in financing promising investment projects.
Special attention was paid to the exchange of experience in corporate governance, ESG, project finance, and capital raising. To this end, the parties expressed interest in holding joint seminars and educational events at Baiterek Business University.
The parties confirmed their mutual interest in developing a long-term partnership and implementing joint projects aimed at expanding investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Republic of Korea.
