Baiterek Holding and Oman Investment Authority Discuss the Launch of the Central Asian Direct Investment Fund

Today, at Baiterek National Managing Holding JSC, Chairman of the Management Board Rustam Karagoishin held a meeting with a delegation from the Oman Investment Authority (OIA), headed by OIA Deputy Chairman Mulham Al-Jarf.

The delegation also included representatives from Mars Development and Investment, the Uzbek-Omani Investment Company, Shared Assets OQ, and Oman Investment Bank.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Oman, including the launch of a Central Asian Direct Investment Fund focused on implementing projects in sectors such as transport and logistics, e-commerce, food processing, and others.

Particular attention was given to Kazakhstan’s potential participation in the Fund as an institutional partner. During the meeting, the possibility of opening a regional office of the Fund in Astana based at the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) was discussed, which would allow for more efficient coordination of investment activities and greater involvement of the Kazakh side in the Fund’s strategy implementation.

"We view participation in the Central Asian Direct Investment Fund as a strategic opportunity to strengthen economic ties and attract capital that will contribute to the growth of the entire region," emphasized Rustam Karagoishin.

The parties confirmed their willingness to continue a constructive dialogue on the structure and terms of Kazakhstan’s participation in the Central Asian Direct Investment Fund.
