Kanat Sharlapayev, Chairman of the Board of Baiterek Holding, met with Wiebke Schloemer, Director of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) for Turkey and Central Asia.
The IFC is an international financial institution, part of the World Bank, created to ensure private investment in developing countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed mutually beneficial cooperation. The IFC is investing in the construction of a new terminal at the Almaty International Airport. Baiterek Holding finances 15% of this project through its subsidiary – Kazyna Capital Management.
– The new terminal will help increase passenger traffic, open new international destinations, increase cargo flows, improve the services, and develop commercial and other infrastructure, – said Kanat Sharlapayev.
The participants have also discussed the development of transport and logistics infrastructure. They found the meeting to be fruitful and outlined plans for further cooperation.
The meeting was attended by Cassandra Colbert (Director of the IFC Regional Office for Central Asia), Ekaterina Benjamin (Director of the IFC Regional Office for Kazakhstan), Ruslan Iskakov (Chairman of the Board of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan), Ainur Kuatova (Chairman of the Board of Kazyna Capital Management), and Aizhan Urazova (Director of the International Cooperation Department of Baiterek Holding).
